Yes it's spelled "Ukrainian," and yes it's ironic I'd correct it here rather than in the comic.
On the bright side the guy on the bottom bunk was a polyglot assistant math prof. We had a great chat, drank a lot and he translated at the border crossings for me (my Russian is ok, my Ukrainian and Polish nil). But Ukrainian trains still suck, hell I've riden on an unheated, leaky, shaking Romanian train in the winter with no beds and broken seats and got more sleep.
